Private English classes in Oxford

Private English classes are available at Kheiron School of English to students who want to receive individual, one-to-one tuition with a teacher.

Private classes can be tailored to a student’s exact needs, and are perfect for anyone who wants to study very intensively and make quick progress.

We are happy to arrange any type of private class. Depending on your needs, this could include intensive conversation and fluency practice, pronunciation work, intensive exam preparation, or Business English. We can also provide a proofreading service for students who need us to check their CVs or university dissertation or thesis.

If you choose to have private English classes at Kheiron School, these can be organised at a time that is convenient for you – in the morning, afternoon or evening.

You can start as soon as you like, depending on our teacher availability.

If you can’t come to a class, please tell Poppy or Chris a minimum of 24 hours before the class, and you can then recover the class at a later date. If you don’t tell us 24 hours before the class, then unfortunately you will lose the class.
No. There are no registration fees.

This depends on what you need, and what you would most like to focus on. You can discuss your needs with your teacher, and together you can agree on what to focus on in class.

You will need to bring pens, pencils, and some paper. It is a good idea to have a folder to keep everything organised. We will provide all the study materials used in class.

Yes – all students will be given a certificate stating their level and how long they have studied at Kheiron.

At Kheiron, we don’t give students regular, formal progress tests. We prefer to assess students continuously, based on their contributions in class as well as their homework. We organise a private tutorial for part-time students every 8 weeks with the Principal or Director of Studies, so that we can discuss your progress, areas to improve, and future goals and study ideas.
